I would like to draw a distinction between
fake news and news you don’t like.
Fake news is a falsehood claimed as a fact.
News you don’t like is very likely a fact.

(This is not an
inconsequential distinction.) 

 

*In Greek mythology, Cassandra was the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba, rulers of the city of Troy, made famous in Homer’s Iliad.  Her elder brother was Hector, a great Trojan warrior. Cassandra was gifted with the ability to make accurate prophecies but cursed because no one would believe her prophecies.
